How much do electricians charge?

All Encinitas electricians do their pricing a little bit differently, so sometimes it can be hard to compare pricing when you get several quotes from different electrical service companies. At Ms. Sparky, we typically charge an hourly rate for service calls. Our current rate is $125.00 for the first hour of work, and then $95.00 each additional hour, plus the cost of materials. Day work, such as recessed lighting installation or ceiling fan installation is priced per item. We will give you a detailed estimate before we begin any work, so there are no surprises when you are handed your final bill.

For larger projects, like electrical work for new home construction, large remodeling projects, or tenant improvement projects, we often charge by the square foot of the space. Electrical work for new construction will have a different price structure than work done on existing buildings, since existing structures come with a lot more unknowns, such as previous electrical work that was not done to code that will need to be corrected.

We are always happy to explain what is included in our quote. We do our best to use terms you can understand to describe the work we will be completing and how much you can expect to pay for it. If extra services are required once we begin work, we can give you an updated estimate that includes the additional work. We always strive to be completely upfront with our customers about pricing, which is something our customers appreciate about our company.

Some projects we are able to quote over the phone, but for most of the electrical work we complete, it is best if we come to your home or place of business so we can get a more accurate idea of the scope of the work we will be completing.
